Information about the kindergarten "Vingesuset"
Opening hours: Monday - Friday 6.30-17.00
Vingesuset "The noise of wings" is a kindergarten belonging to the municipality of Copenhagen. There are 3 groups and a total of 64 kids.
Vingesuset is located in a peaceful area of Vanløse close to Damhusengen and the Metro station, in the middle of the apartment block Lønstrupgård. Most of the children who attend Vingesuset come from Vanløse or nearby areas.
The house has 2 group rooms each with their own playroom. Furthermore we have a lovely outdoor playground with an open playing area and many possibilities for the children to have fun. The children are provided lunch 3 days a week in the kindergarten, and bring their own packed lunch the remaining days of the week.
In addition to our house, Vingesuset also has its own bus "Trækfuglen". The children rotate between the house and the bus, which means they have 4 weeks in the kindergarten followed by 2 weeks in the bus. We decide from day to day where we want to go and what we feel like doing when we use the bus. Sometimes we drive to different forests, but the children also enjoy it when we spend a whole day at a nature playground or in Copenhagen Zoo.
It is very important for us here at Vingesuset that the kindergarten is a pleasant and comfortable place to be for the children and the parents, as well as for the staff.
We do not believe in strict structures, instead we try to make room for playing and the opportunities for new friendships to grow and we strongly believe that's better for the children in the long run.
Our main focus is the individual child and we see every child as unique, with his/her own culture. We also believe it is especially important that the kids are capable of recognising their own feelings, wishes and needs, but also to be included in social associations. When many people are gathered in one place, certain interaction rules are needed, especially treating each other well and with respect. We try to make as much room as possible for spontaneity, creativity and new ideas and a cheerful and positive environment is of great importance to us.
